Kids Trike
If you are reading this then it is probably safe to assume that you are interested in the Kids Trike. Maybe you want to buy one for your son or daughter for their birthday or some other special occasion.
This is honestly the perfect trike. My parents bought this for my daughter for her 2nd birthday and we couldn't be more pleased with it. It's sturdy, has the ability to be adjusted for greater longevity and is gorgeous. Its retro-looking (like the old, rounded bikes Schwinn once made) with a sleek design and curvy shape.
Its extremely safe. We tried so many models in different stores and none come close to this one. The back wheels are wide set with large wheels for great stability. All wheels are bycycle-type instead of hard plastic. A child can start riding as early as 2 years old with a Schwinn Tricycle. It is a great way to encourage your child to be active outdoors as well as in.

Featuring unique retro styling and a heavy-duty steel construction, the Schwinn Tricycle is a great choice for your youngster’s first trike. It has a low center of gravity thanks to a wider profile back, which offers added stability to prevent tipping.
The Schwinn Tricycle's swoopy steel frame has an easy step-through design so your tyke will be comfortable and ready to ride.
The Schwinn Tricycle has a bucket seat that has an opening on the back for easy carrying. This Kids Trike's seat can be adjusted underneath with a twist knob (no tools needed) to 5 different positions. Tricycle has textured grips and raised ends on the handlebars help keep little hands from slipping off. Handlebars on the tricycle can be adjusted using a wrench. The tricycle's pedals offer colored rubber accents that also provide extra gripping so shoes don't slide off. The Schwinn Roadster Tricycle has air-filled tires, 12 inches on front and 8 inches in the back, provide a smoother ride over bumpy surfaces.
Choosing Kids trike for your kids
There are at least ten reasons I can think off the top of my head why you would like Schwinn Tricycle 12 inch trike but I will keep it short and only mention the three most important in my opinion – great look, unmatched quality and safety
- Schwinn Roadster 12 inch trike looks great – no doubt about it. Every time my kid rides it in the park other kids are chasing him and older people ask me where I have bought it. What I like is that the Roadster comes not only in blue for boys and pink for girls but also in a few other colors. This way you will be able to pick a color your kid will really like.
- The quality of Schwinn Tricycle is unmatched. Unlike most of the trikes out there that are plastic Schwinn's 12 inch trike is metal. It a little heavier than the plastic trikes but not something that should stop you from buying it. The metal frame guarantees that the trike will last forever, or at least until your kids (yes kids, no matter if you have 2, or 3, or more) will be ready for a real bike.
- The wheels of the trike have inflatable tires and the result is smoother and more enjoyable ride. At the same time it makes tipping over almost impossible. No one want his kid to be injured while riding a trike. In short these are the three main reason you should buy Schwinn Roadster 12 inch trike multiple colors. However I feel like I have to tell you one more thing.
- This Kids Trike is also designed for comfort. Look at many of the trikes on the market today and you will see that most have those uncomfortable plastic saddles. Schwinn not only added style but comfort to their Schwinn Roadster Trike by adding a snug bucket seat instead of a hard plastic saddle.
Schwinn Tricycle Review

Stable and good looking, just a little heavy., February 29, 2008 by Gabriel'sbuddy (Carrboro, NC USA)
We have the red and the blue for our two two-year olds. One is big for his age and can reach the pedals and the other can just push from the ground.
This is a great trike because it is very stable since it is low to the ground and the rear wheels are far apart. This already came in handy when one son took a turn going down a very slight hill. He stayed upright when I am sure another trike would have tipped. Being low to the ground also makes it easier to push with one's feet (this helps my smaller son).
The trike's stability also helps with mounting and dismounting. We looked at a Radio Flyer trike and found it was easy for a kids foot to get caught on the seat or the tube dismounting the trike, causing a fall. No problem with this trike, getting on and off is very easy.
We also like the pneumatic tires and the retro look. We get lots of compliments from the neighbors. Our friends have the expensive trikes (Kettler?) and we certainly prefer the Schwinn over those which seem to be cheap plastic and are so loud because of the plastic wheels. The push bar and one pedal on their Kettlers broke, indicating to me that they aren't that durable.
The only bad size is that it is heavy. This hasn't come into play, both kids can push the trike around with their feet, even up a slight hill.
Best tricycle ever and it's even PINK!, March 18, 2007 by Mommytimesfour (Stoneham, MA)
I can't say enough GREAT things about this trike. My 2 year old LOVES it! It is very well made, as are Schwinn Bikes. It has so much style, yet it is actually very well made. We gave it to her today at her birthday party, and I think the adults were just as impressed by it as the little kids. Plus, the seat is adjustable so it can grow with the child. It is also very easy to assemble. This is a must have for any pink loving, active, little princess!
VERY WELL BUILT TRICYCLE!. June 22, 2009 By Tom Reiber
I am surprised that Schwinn trikes are not available at conventional stores. This is an excellent product that should definitely be on top of every parent's list.
We decided on the Schwinn roadster after exhaustive research considering among other trikes, Kettlers, Italtrikes, Radio Flyer, etc.. but found this to be the best not just in build quality but also great value for the money you pay (Kettler is just too expensive). Our son just turned 2 and we first thought that he might be too small for this trike after reading other reviews. For now he does reach the pedals (he is 27" tall) but has yet to learn how to pedal.
He scoots around easily, as the seat is low enough. Assembly was extremely easy - 4 steps, took me all of 10 minutes. It rides so smoothly. We are as excited as our son is with this trike and cannot wait for him to learn to pedal around with it. Excellent trike and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
NICE BIKE. February 3, 2010 By M.Barker
This is probably the best buy I have ever made for my grandson. He just turned 4 this month & there are still 2 adjustments to move the seat back so he can use it for at least another year if it lasts that long the way he tears stuff up!

Sturdy, well made, too fancy? – Jorge Jimenez – Chicagoland, USA
I got this bike because I saw the good reviews. It is well made, very easy to assembly and looks very robust. It is not light and a perhaps a little to big. This bike, with its shiny look, good paint, and wood platform with the brand printed in back looks really fancy; some (less-showy and more modest) people may think too fancy for a little girl. I appreciate the quality, including the good packaging where all the pieces are well protected. The price was reasonable for the quality.
Sharp Looking Bike – N. Miller – Lexington, KY USA
Our 2 year old loves this bike. She is still getting use to the pedals but I know she will love riding it soon.
Awesome Lowrider Trike! – IABoy –
We got this trike for our 2.4 year old daughter. She loves it and zooms around very well. The low sitting position provides a much safer (from my perspective) ride and not top heavy like some other trikes. It is nice metal frame and real rubber, air filled, tires. Could not be happier.
